Det er den tid på året igen. Den tid, hvor græsplænen er lang og grøn, men ikke altid ser bedst ud. Det kan være frustrerende at stå med en græsplæne, der har brug for lidt TLC efter al den regn, vi har haft i denne sæson. Derfor vil jeg gerne dele 10 tips til at få din græsplæne tilbage i topform!
Det første, du skal gøre, er at sørge for, at din græsplæne får masser af solskin. Hvis den ikke får nok sol, begynder græsset at blive gult og uddø. Det perfekte tidspunkt er tidligt om morgenen eller sent om eftermiddagen, når solen ikke rammer direkte ned på din have. Husk også, at hvis noget nogensinde ser for godt ud til at være sandt, så er det sandsynligvis også tilfældet!
Sørg, som det andet for, at der ikke er nogen huller i dit hegn, hvor folk kan se ind i din have, så de ikke rører ved noget, de ikke bør uden opsyn. For det andet skal du bruge en luftningsmaskine til at trække propper op fra jorden med et par måneders mellemrum i løbet af vækstsæsonen (forår-efterår). Dette vil hjælpe luften med at cirkulere omkring alle rødderne, hvilket hjælper med at forhindre irriterende svampeproblemer senere i tørre perioder .
For det tredje skal du gøde din have med en gødning, der er egnet til græs. Det er bedst at anvende dette i det tidlige forår og igen i løbet af sensommeren hvert år. Afhængigt af hvor meget sol din græsplæne får, kan du også tilføje fosfor- og kaliumrige organiske tilskud som f.eks. benmel eller blodmel lejlighedsvis i løbet af vækstsæsonen (forår-efterår). Husk, at hvis vi får for meget regn efter påføring af disse produkter, kan det få dem til at blive skyllet væk, før de har nået at blive integreret ordentligt i jorden, så vær forsigtig!
For det fjerde , vand din græsplæne dybt og sjældent. Det er bedst at bruge en vandingsslange eller et drypvandingssystem, da vandet herved ledes direkte til det sted, hvor det skal være. Det sidste, du ønsker, er en overmættet græsplæne, der får sygdomme af at være for våd!
For det femte skal du klippe højt. Hvis græsset klippes kortere end to tommer, opstår der brune pletter på jordoverfladen, hvilket kan føre til svampeinfektioner som f.eks. rød tråd . Desuden er kortklippede græsblade mindre udsat for sollys, hvilket betyder, at de ikke vil vokse så hurtigt i perioder med tørt vejr
For det sjette er ukrudtsbekæmpelse afgørende for en sund og grøn græsplæne om sommeren. Hvis ukrudtet ikke behandles, vil det tage næringsstoffer fra græsplænenes rødder ved at og frarøver dem sollys, vand og luft. Hvis du har en stor græsplæne, er det bedst at få professionel ukrudtsbekæmpelse for ikke at skade dit græs eller din jord uopretteligt
For det syvende er brugen af syntetiske gødningsstoffer, der indeholder kvælstof, en almindelig måde, hvorpå folk tror, at de hurtigt kan øge deres grønne område, men disse forårsager faktisk mere skade end gavn . Tilføjelse af for meget kvælstof vil brænde rødderne fra ukrudtet ved at fratage dem ilt. Desuden er det kendt, at for store mængder nitrat er skadelige for dyr som hunde og kvæg, der kan indtage noget af det, når de græsser på din græsplæne! Så husk: ingen kemiske tilsætningsstoffer, tak! For det ottende bør du lufte din have lejlighedsvis i løbet af sommeren (forår-efterår). Græsplænen kan også være et godt sted til udendørs Yoga, og så skal foreholdene jo være i orden.
